Problems installing splash screens

Can anyone give me a guide on how to install a splascreen? I tried everything, but nothing works >.<

You should be able to drag the theme.tar.bz/theme.tar.gz2 to the splash settings window, or you can extract it to ~/.themes/
It should extract as ~/.themes/theme name/balou/files you should have a themerc and an image file.
