How to create desktop icons?

Hi,

I have recently installed Gentoo Linux with xfce4 and I can't figure how to make desktop icons (like I had in windows). I know there got to be an option because all the screenshots have them. Can anyone assist me?

Locate the file in Thunar, drag it to the desktop.

Is there another option? Thunar is masked in Gentoo's portage for AMD64...

You need Thunar for the xfdesktop to have desktop icons. So unmaks Thunar and rebuild xfdesktop .
