Setting window sizes

I have my panels at the bottom of my window and unhidden so that they are always viewable/accessible from any desktop.

How the heck do I get opening windows e.g. browser, email client etc, to sit "above" the panels at the bottom? At the moment they reach down behind the panels and I have to resize them manually to get them to fit above them.

There doesn't appear to be a "remember position" option anywhere that I can see.

I'm sure there's a simple way to do this.

Re: Setting window sizes

Go to margins in the settings, try out different sizes, it works well for me, I like space around the applications! :-)
