icon for file extensions (example.mp3)

I was wondering how you change the icon to files viewed in THUNAR. Some of my extensions have the same icon and I don't like that?

You need to modify the mime database. You might want to install a more complete icon theme (like gnome-icon-theme) together with your current icon theme. The Gnome icon theme support a whole bunch of mime's, so that might give a better result.
