Hi,
I installed XFCE (Debian Etch) on the PC of my wife. I read on internet that there is a Vietnamese translation of XFCE. Where can I find it and how can I install it ?
In my « language environment menu » I don't see « Vietnamese »... :-(
Thanks for your help.

Read this topic: http://forum.xfce.org/index.php?topic=3413
And set the variable to vi (http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php), that will translate some components to Vietnamese, but this translation is far from complete in Xfce: http://i18n.xfce.org/stats/index.php?mo … fce_4_4/vi

Thanks but it doesn't work...
I put all my locales in "vi_VN.UTF-8" and it change nothing. XFCE is still in french (my native language)...
$ locale
LANG=vi_VN.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="vi_VN.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=vi_VN.UTF-8
I suppose it is not a problem with the "locales" (I can use XFCE in German with my locales fr_BE.UTF-8). I suppose I must write somewhere that XFCE must use Vietnamese. As I don't see Vietnamese in the language menu, I suppose I must add it. What (file, package, variable, ?) and How ?

Ok. I found it...
It was too simple :-)
Just chose "Vietnamese" when I start a session ! I made all good except the last step :-)
