Desktop config tool does not work

Dear  Friends,
I am using xfce4.4 on Kubuntu  Feisty, I have 2 accounts. On the one with administrative priviledges (can use sudo) no problems. On the 2nd no way to get Desktop config tools to work at all (no windows pops up) . I tried to delete ~/.config content to let xfce4.4 recreate a clean one but I think I have messed up things even more. Can anybody help? If not I'll have to switch back to KDE (sic....)

THX in advance

Re: Desktop config tool does not work

config files get saved when you shut down xfce. so when you remove them, and then logout... the settings are restored.

The solution to this is to remove the files inside .config while you are not using xfce.

Re: Desktop config tool does not work

Actually I did delete these files while not logged in (I did it from a console outside X)
Thank you for your help anyway. Any other suggestions are welcomed.
