Mousepad Recovering from Crashes

I was workin on an unsaved text file with mousepad. The power went off and I lost the work. I would like to know if it is possible to recover that file.

If this feature is not available then I think that developers working on mousepad should consider adding autosave drafts feature or something that makes recovery easy. You know bad things happen all the time and power failures are part of daily lives in our part of the world.

Re: Mousepad Recovering from Crashes

Nope, it's gone .

Maybe we'll add some autosave feature in the new version of Mousepad that drops backups in your ~/.cache directory, but definitely not .yourfile.txt.swp files all over the system. We're still working on the basics objects of Mousepad 0.3, but I'll keep it in mind.

11 years have passed, still same state?

Re: Mousepad Recovering from Crashes

Well, it's easy to check, could you reproduce it?

It seems like it's been addressed, see bugs #5401 and #12300, not sure about the specifics or effectiveness of the approach.
