Can thunar open in a new tab/current window?

Is there any way to make Thunar open the selected directory into either a new tab in the current window, or into the current window - rather than always opening a new window?

Are there any plans to ever make a dual pane option? I like thunar and I'd use it more if it had that option, as krusader does.

I don't see why a directory is opened in a new window, because it should always be opened in the current one. Thunar won't support tabs and dual pane windows, unless this will be supported through plugins some day.
