How do I choose the default dvd player ?

When a dvd (with a movie) is mounted, gxine is automatically started.

It is very convenient but I would rather use VLC instead of gxine.

How do I change that ?

Thanks for your help !  :-X

Well it's probably started by one of the volume managers you have installed. If this is the Thunar volume manager, you can run thunar-volman to change the settings.

Thanks very much, it actually did the trick !

For those who are interested and use thunar as volume manager, you have, as said, to start thunar-voman with the "--configure" option. Then simply fill the appropriate field with for example "vlc --fullscreen dvd://"

ciao ;D
