dhcppc0 and beryl problems after installing xfce4

Hello,
I installed xfce4 on my Fedora 7 and after logging in the xfce4 session the following message apered.

"Could not look up internet address for dhcppc0. This will prevent gnome from operating correctly. It may be possible to correct the problem by adding dhcppc0 to the file /etc/hosts."

Before xfce I used gnome and everything worked just fine.

The other problem that comes along with the installation of xfce4 is that beryl doesn't work. Here also everything where fine with gnome.

What did I do wrong?

Same problem on F15 over 3 years later.  Somebody must have found a solution and posted by now!
