Synaptic performs autostart

Hi,
have the problem that whenever I boot my nb and the desktop xfce comes up, synaptic autostarts and shows the error message "no administration rights..."
I than have to close that window, close synaptic. quite annoying.
has anyone an idea how to stop that?
there is no entry in the autostart file and the check for restart last session does not change a thing.
thanks your help.
i am a linux newy so please keep your reply on a dummy level.
tks

Re: Synaptic performs autostart

Found solution by using the set-up manager, session and start options. activated "show  session selection on start". created a new session. and the problem is solved.

Re: Synaptic performs autostart

I have similar issue with "orage" but:

1) where do I find the "set-up manager" ?
2) Under "Settings Manager" -> "Sessions and Startup", I don't see any option "Show session selection on start"

Using Xubuntu Hardy Beta

Re: Synaptic performs autostart

I wonder if there is no thing to do with messing the clean up of the desktop...

often, when I quit Xfce without terminate applications on desktop, I get, on reboot, or re-prompt, multiple sessions (which may cause conflict(?) :?) of the same application (because it's in the 'toolbar' as an applet, or is ordered to start at session, or still "on '/usr/bin/top' " when I quit Xfce)
I guess ('cos (I'm not (until further) no Xfce guru ,nor developper) this happens because Xfce remembers what was opened when it quits.
So :
toolbar applet
+ opened session of program whenever Xfce quits
+ remembering of the last session
... there can be no end, as u use all these stuffs)

conflict between toolbar-applets, and waking up Xfce?..
anyone would say "well! 'messing up'(?) your desktop when you leave!
I 'believe' it's a bug, 'cos Xfce doesn't check what's opened or not !? We must report (it I'm to new to know how to... but I will if someone involved in Xfce development tells me it is...)

Even I really enjoy Xfce, I can't use as I intend to
