Compile Thunar 0.9

Hi smile
I'm running Gutsy Gibbon (Xubuntu). I tried to compile Thunar 0.9. But it said that libexo is to old. So I tried to compile exo 0.3.4.
There occured no errors while using ./configure and make.
While using checkinstall the following message appears:

make[4]: *** [install-pluginsLTLIBRARIES] Fehler 1

make: *** [install-recursive] Fehler 1

**** Installation fehlgeschlagen. Breche Paket-Erzeugung ab.

Routine aborts and I don't know what to do. Any solutions?
