Maximize windows behind panel

Hi all,

my bottom right panel is very small (just the clock and battery monitor). When I maximize a window, I want it to slip behind the panel rather than stop at the top of it. Is that possible?

You can make the panel "auto-hide", which would allow the maximization to overlap where it usually shows up.

Not the best solution, perhaps, since you only will see the panel if you mouse-over it.
