Using xfce 4.4.2 under debian lenny (package xfce4 4.4.2.1) on a Thinkpad notebook thunar does not recognize any inserted cds.
This works with another debian sid system on another desktop computer with identical versions of xfce4, hal and dbus packages (without thunar-volman), i.e. an inserted cd is automounted, I get an icon in the thunar sidebar and nautilus opens the directory (don't know, why nautilus).
On the notebook nothing happens, when a cd is inserted, however, anything works fine with usb devices.
Can mount cd from the command line, also nautilus works as expected.
Did I miss something?

Hi,
on your sid machine, (most probably) gnome-volume-manager gets involved and launches nautilus.
Remove it from the autostarted applications.
On both machines, activate thunar volume management by clicking on settings/setting manager/file manager
On tab advanced, check 'enable volume management'.
And if you OKed powertop's 'disable haldon-storage' or 'hal-disable-polling --...',
then you naturally get no notifications and thunar is behaving correcly.

Thanks Herd, I forgot that I disabled polling of the cd device some time ago.
