I am just trying out xfce again (used to use it) and I can not /will not live with the panel that can no longer
have its layer changed. So will the old 4.0 panel work with 4.4 ? Or is there an different way to bring back that
functionality?

Hi
To save time, If layer means colour then please have a look at the script I wrote in the 'sort gtkrc-2.0' post. it needs a little sorting but it is all there.
if you go back to the forum start page, this post is like the 10th or 11th post down from the top.

Thanks but but what I object to is this always on top stuff. It used to be settable.
http://www.xfce.org/images/documentatio … ttings.png is an example of the setting dialog
for me the loss of this feature is a deal breaker. (Now I wonder if this is why I stopped using xfce last time)

Hi
I'm sorry for not understanding you. The reason I did not is cuz I run 3 very different versions of DReamLinux and we do not carry this feature.
Now I'm bummed out too. I will try to programme it or find a work around. Thi will take a great deal of time though.
