Blue screen and that's it !

Hello every one, I m french, so sorry for my english  :twisted:

I'm under Ubuntu Hardy 8 on an Asus and all is going find under Gnome. But i wanted Xfce, so I've installed xubuntu-window and xfce4 with dependencies.

When I want to log into xfce's session I've got an entire blue screen with no pssibility to right click ! I can't do nothing exept moving the mouse  roll

I've installed again all packages via synaptic, but nothing change : Blue screen and no right clicking or left clicking...

Nobody in french ubuntu could give me a solution... that's why I m asking to you guys... what can I do  :?

Hey there, I had this same issue a while back and it was a problem with XFCE and Compiz. My guess is that you might have compiz (Desktop Effects) running at startup? If you do, then login into Gnome and disable the desktop effects from the Appearance Preferences. Then, log out and try logging back into XFCE. This is what worked for me. Let me know if that helps.
