Hello,
I have noticed recently that a process called "xfdesktop" is maxing out my CPU (well 96%ish) after being logged in for only a short while (15 minutes give or take). It will also start leaking memory until it uses it all (1gb) and starts hitting swap. Another symptom is that the icons on the desktop no longer respond and the right-click menu no longer works (however the menu "button" does work).
I tried googling this and even searching this forum and only came up with issues where the menu and panel processes specfically were causing this. In my case, neither of those are even making the radar wit top. The only process hogging everything is "xfdesktop". I am currently running Arch Linux(current)/XFCE 4.4.2 on an AMD Athlon XP 3200 and 1gb of Memory. If anyone can point me to a workaround or even an existing bug report, it would be greatly appreciated. I really, really....really don't want to use KDE or Gnome.
Thanks!
