How the **** do I change from Thunar to another File Manager

This is driving me nuts!  :-| :-| :-|

How do I move from Thunar to another file manager
in xubuntu!
I hate thunar!
I even tried replacing the binary, but that doesn't work!
I even tried removing it but that doesn't work!

I want to use dolphin please! Why is this nowhere in the FAQ
is it just assumed that everyone loves thunar 100%
and why would anyone have anything at all they disliked about it
and that if you like xfce its because of thunar?

how the heck do i turn this thunar thing off!

No, because others might be thinking it's self explaining: Open xfce-setting-show, go to Desktop preferencies and unselect "Allow xfce to manage the desktop". Now add some file manager to your autostart list, i.e. I use nautilus: nautilus -n
Also you might want to replace you thunar executable with other file manager executable. For nautilus:
sudo mv /usr/bin/Thunar /usr/bin/Thunar.real
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/nautilus /usr/bin/Thunar
