Missing bin commands

Hello to everybody.
I'm a new Kfce user. I installed it onto the Acer Aspire One instead of the original Linpux installed onto that machine.

I am trying to add some utilities but I'm getting some trouble.
The Synaptic Package Manger is  not working, the svn and the apt-get commands are not installed.

What am i doing wrong? Do i need to install some update?

In a terminal does aptitude work?
