Hey,
How can I reorder the items in the Menu at the top left of my desktop (the one with Terminal, File Manager, etc). I recently added a custom item, but it is in the middle, and I want it at the top, next to File Manager. How do I do this?
Thanks!

This is a great how-to about the menu in 4.6. If this doesn't tell you what you need to know, post back. It solved my problems trying to rearrange items and adding a group.

Thanks for the reply.  That worked, once I figured out what it all meant.  I found it a little confusing about all the moving to the home directory and stuff, so I'll outline what I did in case it helps anyone else.
1. Make a backup copy of /etc/xdg/menus/xfce-applications.menu
2. Create your desktop file in /usr/share/applications (this puts it in the menu, but ordered alphabetically)
3. Add a line to the xfce-applications.menu where you would want it (I put mine below <Filename>xfce-file-manager.desktop</Filename> because I wanted it below the file manager
4. Run "killall -HUP xfdesktop" (I don't know if this is necessary but I did it)
Enjoy the new menu item it its correct place!
