Thunar delete/move to bin

In Thunar, when I have file highlighted and I press the del button, rather than just delete the file, Thunar moves it to the dustbin.  This is fine on local drives, but when I do this on a network drive, the whole file gest copied over the network to the dustbin, and for large files this is impractical.

Is there a way to just straight delete a file (i.e. issue an rm command rather than an mv to the bin) when hitting the del key?
