Hi.
I use OpenSuSe 11.1.
You know, before you upload something to any repository you have to check first.
I did it again - third time and last.
I've decided to upgrade 4.4.3 to 4.6.1
And what, you want to call it bug-fix for the stable release 4.6.0 - bullshit!
1. Can't see background image with compositing (XAA).
2. No menu on the right mouse button.
Those was enough!
And you know, it is not easy to downgrade either.
So, I will never even read any news about next "STABLE" releases.
And I am going to write same post to OpenSuSe official forum to protect other from that kind of "sex".
I still use 4.4.3 and I'm start thinking that this is best you could do. Thanks for it. It really differ from GNOME and KDE.

well if those 2 *HUGE* issues prevent you from liking 4.6.x then.... stick to 4.4.x no big deal
No need to insult ppl for it

But it is totally true that all those software are frustrating. And furthermore developers have a huge responsibility in satisfying all our wants and desires. After all we're paying their salaries.
If I were you, I'd sue Olivier Fourdan, the openSUSE Project, Linus Torvalds, as well as Dennis Ritchie, Doug McIlroy, Henry Spencer, Rob Pike, etc.

What repository are you referring to? From which repository did you download the problematic version?

Hi.
OK. If you want to talk about it, why not.
I got 4.6.1 from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositori … SUSE_11.1/,
as well as 4.6.0, which was also downgraded to 4.4.3.
And question is not in satisfaction, question is - if you provide an UPDATE for previous version of desktop, it should AT LEAST function same way with ALL previous features. But it doesn't.
And if you for ex. provide another desktop XFCE-II (like KDE) - there will be no problem, anyone will be able to remove it.
I totally disagree with ManOfSteel, I like linux, and like to solve problems with its functionality, BUT I do not want to think and solve problems, which shouldn't exist at all. I know how to spend time with much more pleasure.
Thanks.

the XAA thing sounds like a bug and something you should report... http://bugzilla.xfce.org
If you don't have a desktop menu you should complain to your packager that made the rpm's for you cause the right click menu sure is working here.

No, No, No, No.
I am NOT going to play that game any more.
Bugs, someone's rpms, bla-bla-bla,no way.
I have 4.4.3 - it woks just fine and it is stable.
I don't want to wait for another "stable bug fixed release"!
I just want working desktop without any visible hint of KDE or GNOME.
Thanks.
Have fun.

well... then i can't conclude anything but the fact that you are pathetic...
complaining , complaining, moaning etc etc... for something get for free... and then if i tell you to help it get fixed you crawl back under your stone... fine by me... but next time don't come complaining on the forum if there is something you don't like.
