Linux Mint 7 XFCE - windows mangement odd behavior problem

I've been running Linux Mint 7 XFCE on a DELL Latitude C610 for sometime with no problems.

Today I am getting some odd windows management issues:
[1.] Open windows don't show in the task bar.
[2.] Unable to resize windows.
[3.] Icons for maximizing the window size, minimizing the window size or closing the window are no longer visible.
[4.] Unable to scroll through open windows using ALT / TAB.

Any ideas on what is going on and what can be done to resolve would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Re: Linux Mint 7 XFCE - windows mangement odd behavior problem

Hey Dave,

Sounds like xfwm4 died, for whatever reason.  Pressing ALT+F2 should open the run dialog, just enter "xfwm4" without quotes and it should fire up.  If the Run dialog doesn't come up, open a Terminal and run it instead.  Might wanna save your Session on logout too, so its restarted next time around.

GL -

Thanks for the suggestion.  This appears to have resolved the problem.

It's probably a good idea to have Xfwm4 set to "Restart style: immediately", in Settings>Session and Startup>Session.
