systemload-plugin --- tooltips don't show up

The question perhaps has been submitted in the past. Unfortunately I didn't find anything about the subject. Most of the time tootips don't show up when mouse pointer is over one of any of the features provided by xfce4-systemload-plugin. I say most of the time because tooltips show up on very very very rare occasion. I don't have any statistics, but it may be 1 of 1 000 000 times.

This happens when running Gentoo Linux. Everything works fine on Xubuntu 9.10. Both systems run Xfce4 4.6.

Do you think it's a misconfiguration of my Gentoo or a bug pertaining to Gentoo only ? Thank's in advance.

Its a bug with >=gtk-2.16 (or was it 2.18), there are patches available on bugs.xfce.org. Hopefully with 4.8 this patches will be included, it also effects several other plugins
