How do I disable xfdesktop from handling backdrop.

I have compiz and had somehow different wallpapers per desktop(side of cube) while still having right click menu and icons. When I recently updated I lost this feature. How do I tell xfdesktop not to handle he wallpaper?

Hypothetically, it should simply be a matter of setting xfdesktop to this:

And instead using Compiz's Wallpaper plugin via CCSM, to set the wallpapers. However, this doesn't work on my system, either. It seems the Wallpaper plugin is broken, at least on my system (Ubuntu 9.04, compiz 0.82).
