Displaying Shortcuts in Thunar with Udev

Hello all,

Since Xorg-server 1.8 the use of HAL is being discouraged so I would like to know if there is a way to create shortcuts in thunar for new storage devices entries, like a bash script or command in order to use it as a udev rule or something. Thank you in advance

Re: Displaying Shortcuts in Thunar with Udev

I think you mean udisks. Currently, thunar relies upon thunar-volman, which relies solely upon HAL for that functionality. The only way I can think that you might get around this, is if you download the latest thunar (pre-)release from the Xfce SVN repositories. Work was recently completed on porting thunar to GIO, or GFS, or one of the two, partially in order to resolve just this issue. That support won't be official until Xfce 4.8 is released, however.
