hi , im having problems with Thunar and the automount for usb drives, if i check the file manager preferences in the advanced tab i cant reach the volume manager options and i have this message : you need to install thunar-vfs and HAL in order to use the Thunar volume manager, but i have these packages!...also a few weeks ago it was correctly working. i think it's a problem of Thunar because the usb drives are correctly mounted in /media/ but i cant see any icon on my desktop
thanks in advance

mmm sorry for the stupid question but im not an expert, i downloaded thunar-volman from here http://git.xfce.org/apps/thunar-volman/ filename thunar-volman-0.5.1.tar.bz2 ...i unpacked it on my desktop and im trying to compile it (in order to solve the HAL support problem) but i cant find any configure script!...Isnt it supposed to be in this folder?

- running ./autogen.sh will create the configure script.
- the version you downloaded should match the other packages.
- which distribution are you on?

If you're using debian, you should be d/ling the debian-ised source ala
mkdir src
cd src
apt-get build-dep thunar-volman
apt-get source thunar-volman
cd thunar-volman*
dh_make --createorig
dpkg-buildpackage
gdebi ../thunar-volman*.deb
