You can now mark topic as [Solved]

Admins, moderators and the user who started the topic, will see a new link Mark as solved next to Post reply. This will quickly prepend [Solved] in the topic submit.

So if your problems was answered, please click the link so other users will benefit!

my eyesight may be failing. i don't see the link 'Mark as solved next to Post reply' when viewing my post after logging in.

That post is almost 10 years old - there have been a few changes since then. Have a look at my How to ask for help post that documents how to mark a thread as solved.
