Hi everyone,
I googled for about one hour but I was not able to find a solution to my problem.
I use some kde apps under XFCE (Kile, K3B, Okular) and whatever I try, they don't integrate well. I think a screenshot will help explain better:
KDE settings are set up to use GTK but it does not change anything at all.
Infos:
Archlinux
XFCE 4.8
kDE 4.6
Thanks in advance for anyone that has an idea

Have you checked "Launch KDE services at startup" in the session and startup> advanced dialog (assuming you use Xfce to login)?

Yes, this option is checked but it does not change anything at all.
My login manager is slim. By the way, I'm not sure which is the correct way to launch Xfce. Now, I use this:
exec dbus-launch ck-launch-session startxfce4
but before that I used this:
exec dbus-launch ck-launch-session xfce4-session
which worked fine too but I'm not sure which one is correct. And as I launch dbus as a daemon, I don't think I need the dbus-launch.
Anyway, this has probably nothing to do with my problem and thanks for your help.

No matter which GTK theme you use, this is what all your Qt applications look like? Even non-KDE ones, like VLC? When you run "qtconfig," you have "GTK+" selected?

Actually, VLC looks fine. As you can see in the screenshot, it is only a part of it that does not look great (menubar look fine).
And yes, GTK+ is selected in qtconfig. So... I'm not exactly sure if this is only a KDE apps problem.
Thanks for your help!

So... no one's got an idea?

This looks more to be some internal settings of the application, look in its preferences if there is anything to change the default font size.

Do you tried to use the qtconfig to fix the problem?

@mmassonnet: well, as it actually does not occur in kile only, I don't think it is an application internal setting
@jere2001: I did
Thanks for your help but still...

Just to let you know: I have the exact same problem with my netbook (Asus 1005HA) and the only DE installed is Xfce...

Hi Rolinh! I know this topic is quite old, but I had the same problem. Did you fix it?

Use the script at http://mikemcquaid.com/2011/12/01/make- … r-xubuntu/ in $HOME/.config/xfce4/xinitrc *
You don't need to make it executable. Next time you login your Qt apps will use the GTK theme.
* change DEFAULT_XFCE_THEME=greybird in the script for the name of the theme you're using.
