USB not mount

Hy All.

I installed xfce 4.8 on opensuse 11.3, but
I can't not mount my usb devices.

I can't see any message to "success" or "failed" to mount ?

How can I mount/umount my device automatic ?

Thx.

A.

Re: USB not mount

You need to properly setup polkit so udisk can do this.

Re: USB not mount

I use default settings in :

/etc/polkit-default-privs.standard

org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-mount                auth_admin:auth_admin:yes
org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-mount-system-internal auth_admin:auth_admin:auth_admin_keep
org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-check                auth_admin:auth_admin:yes
org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-check-system-internal auth_admin:auth_admin:auth_admin_keep
org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-unmount-others       auth_admin:auth_admin:auth_admin

can I modify are these or which file can I edit ?

org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-mount                yes:no:yes
org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-mount-system-internal yes:no:yes
org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-check                yes:no:yes
org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-check-system-internal yes:no:yes
org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-unmount-others       yes:no:yes
org.freedesktop.udisks.drive-eject                     yes:no:yes
org.freedesktop.udisks.drive-detach                    yes:no:yes

Thank you.

Re: USB not mount

Take a look here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xf … le_devices, probably also works on other distros.

Really, if you have a  setup of ConsoleKit and PolicyKit per upstream defaults, no meddling with PolicyKit .pkla files is required. No special groups are required.
What you need is an active ConsoleKit session, either from Display Manager that supports it like GDM or KDM or by using pam_ck_connector.so PAM module for startx/xdm/slim/qingy etc.
And a PolicyKit authentication agent installed, such as polkit-gnome (really polkit-gtk) or lxpolkit autostarted with the desktop from /etc/xdg/autostart...

The ArchLinux wiki's are falsely suggesting to alter already correct PolicyKit settings to workaround invalid ConsoleKit setups.

my 2 cents

Re: USB not mount

my default displaymanager is "slim"
Maybe cause the problem ?

packages:
- polkit
- polkit-gnome

If slim is wrong i will change back to gdm.

Re: USB not mount

I changed displaymanager from slim to xdg and
kernel-default to kernel-desktop.
and installed all recommendation packages to xfce
and now works good.

Thank for the help.
