Hello Forum,
When I use gimp in KDE or gnome I can seperate the tools-window and the window with the picture on two different graphical desktops. With fast shortcuts for changing the desktop it makes working with gimp for me very fast and easy.
What happens if I try the same with xfce4 (no matter on witch linux) ? I can't seperate the windows....
Does anybody know a work-arround? Did'nt find something in the manual nor in the forum!
Thanks
Gingupin

Don't know if you are still looking for a solution... (I did actually... )
But anyhow.
You have to change an option in Gimp.
Start Gimp and go to the preference dialog. Search there for the dialog for window administration. (Called "Fensterverwaltung" in the German Gui.)
There you have to change "tool window" ("Werkzeugfenster") to normal window ("normales Fenster"). After that restart gimp and everything is fine.
Sorry for the maybe wrong re-translation of the dialog names... Don't want to switch my system to English and the online documentation of gimp doesn't work at the moment...
If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.
