Thunar takes 30 seconds to start up since 4.8

I'm on Arch Linux, and ever since the 4.8 upgrade, Thunar has been taking 30 seconds to start, and then opening two windows when it's finally ready.

Looks like some of the Arch crowd think it's related to gvfs or smbnetfs :

...but I need smbnetfs (for my home network) and gvfs (for nautilus)!

And some Gentoo folks are having the same problem but getting nowhere:

Does this qualify as a bug, or is it part of the unfinished 'network:///' functionality that we just have to live with?

Re: Thunar takes 30 seconds to start up since 4.8

I had the same problem - 30 seconds to start Thunar - on Debian. After that I uninstalled the 'gvfs-backends' Thunar start in 2-3 seconds. But if you need the gvfs-backends this solution is to no help for your.
