I've recently switched from Debian (which has XFCE 4.6) to Arch Linux (which has 4.8). I notice that deleting files (that is, moving them to the trash) has become much slower than it used to be (1-2 seconds before the file icon disappears, whereas it used to be practically instant). I suspect this is related to the move to GVFS. Is it a known problem, or should I file a bug?
$ thunar -V
Thunar 1.2.1 (Xfce 4.8.0)
$ xfce4-about -V
xfce4-about 4.8.1 (Xfce 4.8.0)
$ uname -a
Linux satellite 2.6.37-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Mar 8 08:34:35 CET 2011 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6400 @ 2.00GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Just a little information. Debian has 4.8 in the experimental repository. It works great but lack some panel plugins. And - this must be a bug - you must rename the menu file in /etc/xdg/menus/ from 'xfce.applications.menu' to only 'applications.menu'.

export XDG_MENU_PREFIX="xfce-"
Something that should be done by startxfce4.
