aesthetic issues

1. When I set my panel to "automatically show and hide" itself and move the mouse near it's border's place - it appear above the maximilized window. How to set such bechavior (being above the window rather than preventing it from maximalization) for panel which is not going to be automatically hid (so, just typical panel).

2. How to set your own colour for a theme found in appearance menu? I'm using compiz and to make window decoration play well with the inside window, I want to set it white, not grey and there is no such possiblility as far as I can see..

Re: aesthetic issues

1. You can disable struts: xfconf-query -c xfce4-panel -p /panels/panel-0/disable-struts -t bool -n -s true

2. Edit the theme's gtkrc file.
