I used Xfce 4.6 and the panel had the Xfce menu button, but after updating to 4.8 it's gone. I tried right clicking the panel and selecting "Add new item", but the Xfce Menu button was nowhere to be found on the list. Other people that use the same distro as me (debian sid) don't have that problem, so I suppose it's a problem with my system. How can I put back the Xfce menu button in the panel?

Their are alot of mismatch version packages in sid yet you don't have all the packages you need to complete the xfce4.8 desktop. The other people you talk about are going to the experimental repo to get what packages they are missing to get their desktops working. I am still waiting to upgrade mine. With Debian Sid you have to be patience.
