change language

hi...

i changed my language from english to german and now i want to change it back to english...

i changed the language and text to english then clicked the apply system-wide button... i even removed the german language then restarted...

most things are back to english except for system settings... when i right click on the desktop the options are in german and the settings manager is also in german...

locale outputs:

LANG=en_AU.utf8
LANGUAGE=en_AU:de:en
LC_CTYPE="en_AU.utf8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_AU.utf8"
LC_TIME="en_AU.utf8"
LC_COLLATE="en_AU.utf8"
LC_MONETARY="en_AU.utf8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_AU.utf8"
LC_PAPER="en_AU.utf8"
LC_NAME="en_AU.utf8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_AU.utf8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_AU.utf8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_AU.utf8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_AU.utf8"
LC_ALL=

what can i do?

locale output looks ok except for maybe LC_ALL which is null...

strange that even though i have removed german from the language options it still displays...

is there a way i could fix this?

thanks
