gltext screensaver hangs system

at least on a macbook (white 13"), the gltext screensaver hangs the system completely requiring cold boot (bad!).   Antsearchlight works just fine.  My guess is it is an open gl problem.

Re: gltext screensaver hangs system

It probably is yes, the window manager does nothing with screensavers/rendering, so probably your driver hangs the system during gl actions.

I was used to run gltext on my lenovo w510 (to display the current date/time).

I gave up on that too. The system doesnt hang completely, but it somewhat "freezes"
and needs 1 or 2 minutes to become fully responsive again.

Not exactly great, but other screensavers work fine. Unfortunately none seems to
be able to show a nice clock ...

(thats the ONE thing I really miss compared to KDE ... a decent looking analog clock screensaver)
