[Solved] Changing Font Colors

Is it possible to change the system font color?

I played around with some rgb values in gtkrc, and it didn't didn't seem to change anything at all. In fact, the entire contents of the file somehow got deleted, and nothing has been affected. Should I be worried?

Have you played around with ~.gtkrc or the gtkrc of a gtk2 theme ? Modifications of the latter should not be deleted.

I thought I was editing the gtkrc of a gtk2 theme. I suppose I don't know what that refers to.

There is nothing named .gtkrc in my home directory. I made sure to check hidden files/folders.

You have to edit /usr/share/themes/yourtheme/gtk-2.0/gtkrc
The lines with 'fg' are interested.

Thanks, this is working. I just need to figure out which option controls which text area.
