Hi everybody,
As said in the title I have no thumbnail for the movies in Thunar. In fact, Thunar does not create the thumbnails and if a directory is opened once with Nautilus which create them, then they are displayed. I did install the plugin, following the instructions, but it does nothing. Maybe there is something wrong in the howto, I really donno.
So, how can I cut off Thunar from the Applications menu ? I tried with alacarte but it seems that some apps are not handled with it. And I'll replace it with Nautilus
Thx

Tumbler only has a ffmpeg backend so it is possible the video formats are not supported. There is a new gstreamer based thumbnail backend, but no release has been made yet.
Alacarte does not follow the spec for removing menu items (ie. not consistently afaik), so you can copy the Thunar.desktop file to ~/.local/share/applications and add Hidden=true in the file.

Thank you !

A status table to compare the old thumb-nailing and tumbler can be found here: http://wiki.xfce.org/releng/4.10/roadmap/tumbler.
