Could not get internet address....

Since I installed XFCE, each time I start XFCE I get the message "Could not get internet address for <pcname>..." What the heck is this? The pc has an IP address thanks to DCHP, networking works fine, so what is it complaining about?

Hostname is not defined in /etc/hosts.

127.0.0.1      localhost
::1        localhost

It should say "127.0.0.1 <hostname> localhost"
