Make XFCE stop trying to figure out my monitor layout

I have a laptop (Lenovo T61) that I run both in and out of a dock. When in the docking station  I have 2 monitors, a DVI and VGA one. If I put the laptop in the dock and boot it up, everything comes up happy. The laptop display is off and the two monitors do the right thing.

Now when I take the laptop out of the dock it does not turn on the laptop (LVDS) screen. If the laptop is running and I put it into the dock it gets all confused. Throw in trying to get it to work on a projector for meetings and its a real mess.

I'd like XFCE to just ignore all ACPI events (I'm guessing that's how it does things) related to coming in and out of the dock. I'm happy to run xrandr and tell X what to do. What I did with Gnome is tell xrandr to turn off monitors, and turn on laptop before taking out of the dock. Then put it back in the dock, and tell xrandr to shut off LVDS and turn on DVI and VGA.
