Hello,
some nice person in our company created a small GTK+ based application
that is configured with credentials and firewall host names ... and
automatically unblocks the firewall on startup.
The application places an icon in the notification area ...
then you have to "left click" the icon in order to add host names.
Works fine with gnome ... but unfortunately, when using xubuntu / xfce,
left click ... does nothing.
Right click for "about menu" works fine; and I have some other internal
tools that reside in the notification area ... that react fine to "left click".
Any idea what is going on here?

Tray icons are remove window, so if right-click works (and shows a menu of the icon) left click should work as well (read, the panel is not blocking this...).

I have one application (aMule) that apparently registers clicks only if they are on a non-transparent part of the icon...
