Adjusting the size of icons in system notification area

Is there any way that I can adjust (increase) the size of the icons in the system-notification area of the panel?  They are currently very small in relation to the size of the panel.  Thanks.

Re: Adjusting the size of icons in system notification area

If you run 4.6 reduce the number of rows in the plugin settings, in 4.8 increase the minimum size.

Nick - the "Notification area" plugin is already set for number of rows at 1 and cannot get any smaller.  Yes, this is 4.6.  So in this area, there are tiny icons for icedove (thunderbird), Kmail and Libreoffice.  The orage calendar is fine, possibly because it is Xfce4 native?

Possibly because they don't implement the spec properly.

And am I the first to have reported this?

Any ideas on how this can be fixed?  I don't see any options to specify the size of the icons used in this area.
