Hi,
I'm using XFCE 4.8 on an Archlinux install.
I've tried many themes (Greybird, Albatross, Bluebird, xfce 4.4 ...), with any one of them,
with maximized windows,
the top right corner pixel is not used.
Theres a "line" of 2 or 3 pixels over the sensitive bit of the button that is absolutely useless.
It should be used (no troll on fit's law please ;-) ) by the top right button of a maximized window.
It used to be. I tried an "old" 4.6 on xubuntu 10.04 livecd featuring albatross theme : it was right.
So I wonder, is it possible at all in 4.8 to reclaim this precious space ?
Thank you for any advice !

About how xfwm4 theme work, see the wiki
Choose (or modify) a theme that have a thin title with big button. Default-4.4 is a good one => no useless pixel (or offset) from the top border
Put maximized_offset=0 in your themerc file => no offset from the right border
Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...

That's weird.
I have no problem with right border offset. I already had a look at the wiki, only to see that my themerc looked good.
My problem is with top useless pixels : EVEN with Default-4.4, and that sounds pretty impossible.
Whenever I change my theme, the button layout do not change.
Here's what it looks like : https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Y … directlink
I should have shown the titlebar in the picture, only to show that the font size itself does not require extra space.

Oh my god,
I'm so sorry ...
I finally found out that it does not come from the theme itself,
but from the "Window Manager Style" preference.
Damn.
It's not completely awesome to have those two parameters so far away from each other ... for noobs at least

It is understandable :-)
The xfwm4 theme (set in Window Manager) and the general theme (set in Appearance) are independent !! Some theme which work for general gtk desktop (eg Gnome 2) don't have the specific xfwm4 section. I didn't thought about this as well ... when you know, it is ... evident :-p
(don't forget to add [Solved] to the subjet of the thread)
