Hello there,
I installed XFCE4.8 on debian testing and I am very happy with it.
However, after installing fglrx this morning, some of my custom keyboard shortcuts to launch apps stopped working.
I use :
super + e for gvim, this one still works
super+w for iceweasel, doesn’t work anymore
super+m for icedove, doesn’t work anymore
super+f for thuner, doesn’t work anymore
super+t for xfce4-terminal, doesn’t work anymore.
I have no idea what’s going on.
Thanks

Hey MekkaGodzilla,
What is your window manager?
Because if it's Compiz it makes sense- Some Compiz plugins use your keyboard shortcuts.
And for Compiz to work, it need a minimum OpenGL version which isn't supported my mesa, only graphic card drivers do.
That caused Compiz not to use the fallback WM, which the default in Xfce4 is xfwm4.
If what I said is true, just disable these Compiz plugins, or change their shortcuts.

I don’t have compiz installed, so I guess my window manager is xfce4 default one.
However, I simply tried to create the same keyboard shortcuts and those created after having installed fglrx work, even if I use the same keys.
Weird, but solved for me I guess.

I have a same issue between Mixer and my keyboard shortcuts.
Hope for you it will still work after you restart your desktop session, because the fix you've did(removing&adding again shortcut), survives only before session reset.

Unfortunately, you were right, only super+e survived after a reboot.
So it seems it had nothing to do with installing the graphic driver, it was just because I had to reboot.
Is there any work around, or a known list of key combos that work from session to session like super+e apparently does?
Thanks.
