Hi. I used to use yakuake in KDE and, for a while, guake in Gnome, but I know there are other similar pop-up console apps.
Can anyone recommend one for use with xfce4? I'd rather not have to install half of KDE or Gnome to be able to use it!
Thanks.

Tilda is another good one. Minimal dependencies. Works well in xfce.

@ToZ: Thanks for the suggestion. I'm trying yeahconsole right now, and, now that I've got it configured pretty nicely, it's not bad. But I'll give tilda a shot, too. I remember using is a few years back.

I suggest the super lighweight Stjerm.

You're right, Milozzy. Stjerm is a gem. I think I prefer it to the very-similar yeahconsole, maybe because it was preconfigured the way I like it.
As is nearly always the case with Linux, it's great to have choices. I'm grateful are all these gifted coders out there who produce such useful tools.
