[Solved] Weird sound problems

Hello!
I am running Xfce4 on Arch. Recently I came upon a weird problem. After I muted my sound, it became impossible to unmute it. It just stopped working.

I planned to reinstall pulseaudio and pulsaudio-alsa to see if it helps, but the weird thing is that after uninstalling them, my sound started working again. Everything was nice, but now some programs depend on pulseaudio moduls and I can't install it, because I will lose my sound then. It seems I lack some understanding... what is playing the sound?

There is another issue: my audio settings are never saved and I always have to set them myself.

As far as saving the sound state is concerned, you need to follow all instructions in "Installation" and "Unmuting the channels" on this page: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … chitecture.

OK, now I can unmute and save alsa settings using "alsactl -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state store", but when I install pulseaudio, it seems to override these settings and again defaults to mute.

OK, solved this on too. Pavucontrol helped me configurate pulseaudio.
