Hello!
I've had arch linux up and running beautifully on my Thinkpad T61 for around six months. I'm currently running SLIM + XFCE4 + Compiz WM.
My ~/.xinitrc launch commands are:
exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch --exit-with-session startxfce4
After a recent update (see this post if curious) I started having a number of issues - half of which I fixed, and are unrelated to XFCE.
My outstanding issues are:
1) Hibernate/suspend options missing from my XFCE log out menu.
2) Battery percentage/charging indicator has disappeared from the XFCE notification window; when I set the Power Management properties to "show when battery is detected" it remains hidden; if I set it to "always show" it just shows a power plug.
Here is an image showing how my suspend options in xfce-power-manager-settings are greyed out.
What I've tried:
Starting XFCE as root
Made sure that I'm a member of the power group.
Checked ~/.config/xfce4/xconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-session.xml & ~/.xinitrc for appropriate syntax.
Any Ideas? I'd love to have my native power management back.

Somehow, installing glib2 fixed the issue.
