Hi,
Are there any plans to do something with that little aesthetic effect - i mean, tearing of the windows durning during movement?
I'm using Xfce 4.8, Xfwm4 and compositor. The effect of window tearing i was able to observe almost years ago. The problem is still there.
My little investigation brings me to conclusion, that there's something wrong in communication between Xrender developer, graphics driver developers and windows manager developers.
The bug is still there, and because of... Lack of vsync (vblank) in Xrender. Or something around graphics driver - windows manager - Xrender.
Why the main accused is Xrender? Because compositor which uses OpenGL (Compiz) works all right.
The bug is claimed on Launchpad, Bugzilla, and no response. So, who is responsible for that?
I know, that Xfce project has too little manpower to repair all bugs in Xrender and others components of Linux desktops, but maybe it's possible to solve together that problem?
greetings,
