Restrict window movement

Is there an option which will prevent windows from moving to other workspaces. Well, really, what I'd like is for a window move to stop at the screen edges ... it is useful to "move to another workspace", but I'm finding that when I move a window I never want part of it to be in another workspace off screen.

Thanks.

Re: Restrict window movement

Settings -> Window Manager -> Advanced -> "Snap windows to screen border" (and set the "Distance" about half-way between "Small" and "Wide").
Settings -> Window Manager Tweaks -> Accessibility -> "Use edge resistance instead of window snapping".

Re: Restrict window movement

Thanks.

I just increased the "distance" setting to "wide" and it makes it so there is a resistance or delay when I'm moving a window off-screen. Still, it doesn't prevent it smile

I'm really not sure what "snapping" means. Is there an explanation on this somewhere?

Re: Restrict window movement

Yes, it doesn't entirely prevent it...
Snapping means the windows will be attracted to screen edges as soon as you move them close enough.

Re: Restrict window movement

If you are talking about the fact that when you drag your window to the edge of screen, it switches workspace, you can disable it with :
Settings -> Window Manager -> Advanced -> Wrap workspaces when dragging a window off screen

Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...
